Water categories are the way we determine how to handle each job. Knowing what type of water we are dealing with helps us get the job done and done right. There are three categories and they are clean water, gray water, and black water. Within the water categories, there are water classes.
Water classes are used to inform everyone how much damage the water caused. There are four water classes, one (1) being the least damage to four (4) being the worst damage.
- Clean water - comes from a water pipe, rainwater, or an overflow of a water source.
- Gray water - has come in contact with another object and if you don’t handle the water before bacteria starts to form, it will become hazardous.
- Black Water - When the category is hazardous, we have to take the affected materials out.
